Etihad Airways International Student Offer: Etihad Airways Student Discount Up To 10% On Economy Up To 5% On Business Class International students can enjoy a reduction in fares for journeys between their home and destination via the Etihad International Student Offer. The fare is generally calculated from the underlying fare (excluding taxes and other additional charges) and is dependent upon the availability of routes, fares and travel periods. Terms may differ.
Who Is Eligible?
Candidates must be an international student within the age group of 18-32 years and should be a citizen of one of the participating countries. He/She should pursue studies outside of his/her own country of citizenship. The candidate should not be studying in his/her permanent residence country (citizen or permanent resident of that country).
Be a member of Etihad Guest.
Be enrolled to study in a qualifying country (Canada and U.S. are not eligible locations for this offer). Typical qualifying countries include Australia, UK, majority of European countries, India, China, some Middle Eastern countries, some Asian countries, among others (see the live list on the Etihad student offer page). Documents should be recent and ideally be issued within three months of booking.
Step by Step Guide to Applying and Booking
- Join Etihad Guest
Create a free account (or sign in if you have an existing account) on the Etihad website or application. A fixed address in your country of citizenship/residence must be provided in order to determine eligibility during registration or while updating your profile (study location address cannot be used).
- Prepare and Upload Your Documents
Student Card or Acceptance Letter/ Enrolment Confirmation from your university or college. The ID should be recent and your details should be legible and consistent with the details in your Etihad Guest profile. Log into our International Student Offer page and upload it there. Simple step-by-step instructions will guide you through this.
If the pages do not upload successfully, log out and log back in again, or get in touch with us through our Etihad services (contact information will usually appear on the page). Verification can take between a few working days to up to five, and you will get an email when approved.
- Book via the Student Offer Page
Once approved, head back to the student offer page while logged into your Etihad Guest account and then look for flights. The special fares should be displayed for qualifying routings. In previous versions of this offer, there was mention of promo codes such as STU10, but typically in these cases the discount is baked in when you sign in and book through the offer page.
Check again that the student discount has been deducted before you confirm your booking and compare these fares to regular fare sales and other airlines since a percentage of the base fare is what the discount applies to and you may not be getting the best deal possible.
- At Check In and Travel
Travel with your original student ID or acceptance letter (and passport). Airlines and other border agencies may ask for proof of student status. Comply with all normal check-in, baggage and visa rules for your route.
Key Tips :
Details and limits: old versions of the offer had almost no fixed end date and could be used for multiple booking credits (some references have given an end date of 30 June 2025, or the end of 2025). Always double check the current credit period on the official page before you rely on it.
What the fare is discounting: It applies to Economy or Business fares on eligible flights operated by Etihad. Free baggage or date changes appeared in older promos but aren’t included in every instance of the offer. Always check the fare rules attached to your booking.
Restrictions: The discount generally cannot be used with certain additional codes or special faretypes: barebones Economy fares may not qualify, for example, nor any side trip aside from home study. You earn miles normally on these fares, subject to the fare conditions.
Other options if not eligible: Students studying in the United States or Canada, or anyone outside the intended age range, won’t qualify for this offer. However, you can compare prices on other websites, look for other special fares (for example, Emirates has its own student fare), search on flexible dates, or look for deals exclusive to Etihad Guest members.
Some tips: Apply for student credit well before you need to travel. Save and doublecheck digital and paper copies of your documents. Book in plenty of time for holidays (end/beginning of semester and holiday break). Read all the terms & conditions on the student offer page, including cancellation/change policies and baggage included.
